Our Story
A Lifetime of Building Experience
Walter Homes is a family-owned Sydney building company founded by award-winning builder Brett Walter.
Brett began his building career in Sydney in 1975 as an apprentice carpenter and joiner, and went on to complete his Clerk of Works at TAFE.
In 1979 Brett moved from Beecroft, Sydney to Forster–Tuncurry and established Robbwal Projects, a family building partnership with his brother David. The arrangement that would define the business for decades took hold early: Brett concentrated on construction and on-site oversight, while David managed the office and administration.
Building homes, villas and townhouse complexes in Forster–Tuncurry, and on projects further afield in Muswellbrook, Cessnock and Kingaroy, Qld, gave Brett the grounding for what was to come. He gained his builder's licence in 1981.
As their reputation grew, so did the business. The partnership was formalised as Walter Homes in 1989, and incorporated as Walter Homes Pty Ltd in 1992.
Brett has personally overseen the construction of more than 250 homes. His experience spans custom-designed residences, townhouse developments, house and land packages, knockdown rebuilds, major renovations and luxury homes.
His expertise also extends beyond the home itself to swimming pools, tennis courts and landscaping, often on some of Sydney's most challenging building sites.
